Course and trip policies

Students/participants who are disruptive or exhibit inappropriate behavior will be removed from class and NO REFUND OR CREDIT WILL BE ISSUED.

Mobile phones

Mobile phone coverage in the areas where we camp is patchy at best so please make your booking for a time when you will not need to be contacted for the duration. Mobile phones are not allowed on my survival courses. I do have some emergency contact arrangements.

All registrations are taken based on a first registered, first served basis and then based on pre-payment of registration fees.

Payment must be made in advance of course or tour commencement unless other arrangements are made to pay on the first day.

Cancellation Policy

Once an individual has registered and paid for a course or tour, a spot is reserved for that individual.  Class sizes are limited so I therefore employ a cancellation policy regarding refund or transfer of course fees.

Once you have received confirmation of your reservation for the training course you will be liable for the whole fee unless we receive 48 hours notification of cancellation. For bookings cancelled more than 48 hours before a course is due to start, course fees paid will be transferred to another course at no cost.

Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance (no-show) to the course.

Cancelled or Postponed Events

Occasionally, courses are cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances such as weather conditions or situations affecting the instructor or attendance. Notification of any changes is made as via email as soon as possible or at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the course or tour.  When this occurs, Rowans Survival Courses, will make every effort to ensure you receive a prompt refund.

Rowans Survival Courses assumes no liability for cancellation of courses or tours for any reason. Any ancillary costs related to the student taking a class (including but not limited to: airfare, travel, hotel, per-diem, mileage, lost employee wages or salary) are the responsibility of the student and/or the employer. If a class is cancelled by me, Aussie Survial Tours liability is limited to the amount of the class/tour fee ONLY.

Our Privacy Policy

Participant Responsibilities

Course and tour participants are responsible for their own well-being. Participants joining a course may be required to obtain a physician's release prior to departure if necessary. This is a case by case basis. Participants are prohibited from using illegal drugs and alcohol and smoking while on my courses. Participants may withdraw their consent for Rowans Survival Courses to use their photographs but this withdrawal must be asked for before the course starts.

Course of Conduct

Rowan expects that all participants come prepared to put forth their best effort. My courses and tours require participants to follow instructions, try new activities and work as part of a team. Our courses and tours are sometimes physically, mentally and emotionally challenging and require a strong commitment from the participant. A participant will be removed from a course by me if they exhibit behaviour deemed inappropriate to our program and policy. The use of non-prescription drugs and alcohol is against my policy and will result in expulsion without refund. Smoking is not allowed in bushland environments on my courses.

Parent Approval

Children of 16 years and under are permitted on my hikes and workshops with adult supervision, and at adult fees. Children are not allowed on my survival training courses.
